It's possible the air drop process stripped it out.
The exif data doesn't show any creation date at all. The details on your computer are showing file system dates (created modified opened). I was originally an Aperture user and when it was announced that Aperture would no longer be supported Photos was too lacking in features I went with Mylio, but I think Photos will be adequate now.Īir drop is not a drag drop from one storage to another (as you described, I assume using finder in which you said the data was changed) One of the reasons I used Mylio, but it has other issues, hence the attempt to migrate to Photos. Mylio photos are stored in a master folder which can be accessed with the Finder and any changes to the photos are saved and picked up by Mylio. Plan is in Photos to select all with that keyword and create an album. I didn't see any way to migrate Albums from Mylio, so created new keywords to mark all the photos from the Albums. Shouldn't deleting photos just do that or does Photos remember too much? This is probably complicated with Photos being on iCloud.įWIW the keywords were to mark albums. I search for the new tag and only two photos show up. After several reboots and half a day and retries, I was able to select the photos for import. Same name, but not several hundred had been retagged. Photos originally said that they had already been imported. So I deleted those photos in Photos and tried to import the same folder, but now some of the photos are tagged. I'm migrating to Photos.app and after importing a few thousand photos realized I needed to tag (using a Keyword) some of the photos in the old app, Mylio. If I'm not able to download my pictures, and keep the dates they were taken in the file, I'm almost tempted to go with an android for my next phone. I'm not trying to be dramatic, but this may push me away from Apple. I had to buy extra storage on my iCloud because I haven't yet found a successful way to get my pictures off of it. I talked to Apple and they said there is no way to retain the meta data and if I wanted to, I could edit each photo's data individually. HOWEVER, anytime I try it, no matter what way I choose (click and drag, using the export button with different options selected, exporting from the iCloud photos website, etc) the metadata does not stay!!!! The dates the pictures were taken show up FINE in my phone/iCloud, however, as soon as I move the picture, the dates reset to the current date or close to. For the longest time I have been trying to figure out how to export pictures from my iPhone/iCloud to an external hard drive.
